Welcome to the 2006 Golf Season at
Garibaldi
Springs Golf Resort |
|
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Patrick Mulholland and I have taken over as the Manager of Golf Services at Garibaldi Springs.
Many of you may remember me from the 2004 Golf
Season when I was working in the golf shop. After a year away I'm excited about
being back, and I look forward to meeting many of you over the next couple of
months.
Our focus this year is going to be on you, the
customer. We want to make each and every round that you play a memorable
experience |

- We will be promoting pace of play this year and trying to see rounds played in 3.5 hours
- Installation of a driving range net so you can warm up prior to playing
- Enhanced customer service
- Improved scorecards featuring hole layouts and tips on playing each hole

| Garibaldi Springs
Resort Hotel Groundbreaking |
| |
|
On May 9, 2006 the official
groundbreaking was held for Garibaldi Springs Resort Hotel. It was a
beautiful day and 80 guests enjoyed a luncheon at the Perch Patio
Restaurant and golf afterward.
In attendance was Squamish Mayor Ian
Sutherland and many of the councilors as well as investors and
property owners in the hotel.
This is the culmination of 16 years of
work by Mr. Sid Brickman of Garibaldi Springs Development and is the
result of his dedication to this project |
 |
|
We may have a few disruptions to
parking at the course during construction, but there should be no
problems with course operations. They hope to have the hotel open
for late 2007. |

Rules Review
Many people are confused by what the
different color stakes mean on a golf course and what they should do
when they hit their ball into a hazard. Knowing the rules for
hazards can speed up pace of play.
White Stakes are Out of Bounds
(OB). When you hit your ball into an Out of Bounds area, then you
should re-hit from where you hit your ball. Your penalty is stroke
and distance.
Red Stakes are lateral hazards.
When you hit your ball into a lateral hazard you should drop your
ball two club lengths from the point of entry to the hazard, no
closer to the hole. Your penalty is one stroke.
Yellow Stakes are water hazards
in front. When you hit your ball into a water hazard in front then
you can drop your ball back as far from the point of entry as you
like on the same line as the where the ball entered the hazard and
the pin. Your penalty is one stroke. |

|
|
Do you know your golf etiquette?
On the tee box:
|
You should not stand
behind the player teeing off or directly in his line of
sight |
|
Do not move around on
the tee box |
|
Remember you must be
between and behind the tee blocks but only a maximum of
1 club length back. |
